Roberto Cavalli - Fashion Show Ready to Wear Spring-Summer 2016 in Milan (with interview)

A new era for Roberto Cavalli, with May’s arrival of a new president at the head of the house, Francesco Trapani and a new Creative Director, Peter Dundas. From the first moments the evolution is noticeable. A range of cut parkas enter on stage worn with jean tye-die printed high wasted trousers, then the airy dresses take the lime light, short in front at long behind. The silhouette is tall and sexy, with close-fitting dresses secured on one side, asymmetric crop tops are tied on one shoulder. Jackets or perfectos are decorated with metallic borders, the animal prints, the real DNA of the label, are reinterpreted in particular on a short ruffled skirt or on a zebra-striped biker jacket. A long powdery dress seems to be the most romantic proposal of this wardrobe, destined for a girl who is not afraid of anything. Peter Dundas revives the ideas and revitalizes this new Cavalli woman! Interview from :Peter Dundas :I was thinking about the woman. Who is the woman? What do I want her to be? What’s the vibe that I want her to have? How do I want her to change? It was a bit of an operation in my mind I suppose. Like any other fabric, I work a lot with instinct, I am not an intellectual. I work with my heart and I work with my stomach, I suppose. Ciara :It was amazing, I think that Peter should be very proud of himself, he hit the nail on the target for his debut as the new creative director for Cavalli and I also believed that he maintained the essence of what the brand has been for many years but he also came in and added a very special twist to it and it was a great way to start off the party. Francesco Trapani: It was a very natural choice, at first it came from Roberto himself, it was his idea. Peter worked at Cavalli 10 years ago and they were probably better days for the label. He did magnificent work when he was here. He really knows this label well. It feels him in a very strong way. It is anchored in him, and on the other hand, he is someone very modern, who has a vision of the very modern and very free woman, thus we thought that he was the ideal candidate. And I have to say that am delighted as I work so well with him, I think he’s brilliant.Music of the show
