Apple CEO Tim Cook's pay package totaled $14.7 million last year. Business Insider reports that's around a 28% jump from 2019. Apple disclosed in its annual proxy statement on Tuesday. Cook's compensation included a base salary of $3 million, $10.7 million in performance-based pay. He also received nearly $1 million in travel and security expenses.
A woman has been charged with reckless endangerment after plowing her car into a Manhattan protest against Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Newser reports 52-year-old Kathleen Casillo was driving with her 29-year-old daughter when she said demonstrators began banging on her BMW. Demonstrators were protesting in support of ICE detainees on hunger strike. Casillo says she panicked and hit the gas. Six people have hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. A demonstrator was charged for allegedly interfering with emergency workers responding to the scene.
President-elect Joe Biden secured the 270 electoral votes needed to win the presidency more than a week ago. However, many of the president's allies and appointees have remained silent while Trump continues to falsely claim that he won the race. General Services Administration chief Emily Murphy is in charge of acknowledging the election winner and beginning the formal transfer of power. Murphy has not issued the 'letter of ascertainment' that triggers the release of funds and facilities allowing the transfer to begin. Now, Business Insider reports Murphy is privately exploring her job option, based on a message of Murphy discussing employment opportunities in 2021. The apparent job search contradicts President Donald Trump's messaging that he won the election.

A 'Stop the Steal' Facebook group page amassed over 300,000 members in the aftermath of Election Day. The purpose of the pro-Trump, pro-conspiracy theory page was to organize national protests to claim the election was stolen from President Donald Trump. However, Gizmodo reports that Friday morning, one Stop the Steal page--with at least 64,000 members--had been rebranded as Gay Communists for Socialism. 64,000 members who had gone to bed Thursday night believing nothing would change in Trump's America woke up to a country in which everyone has to share. Perhaps group members can be comforted that President Donald Trump has often expressed his admiration for Russian President Vladimir Putin.
