Laverne Cox Forced Out Of Sex Worker Project

Laverne Cox announced she is pulling out of "Sell, Buy, Date." "Sell, Buy, Date" is a documentary about the sex work industry. Cox was forced out of the film after receiving backlash on social media from sex workers. Sex workers said the documentary did not consult sex workers and instead spoke over the community. Cox was set to executive produce the film. She said she is stepping down from the project to prioritize her health.
