Bangkok, Jul 14 (EFE/EPA).- The 41st edition of the Bangkok International Motor Show will open its doors to the public on Wednesday. The event, one of the largest in Asia, will feature over 40 exhibitors showcasing both new models for purchase as well as concept cars and innovative electric-powered vehicles.Carmakers to represent at the Impact Muang Thong Thani convention center, just north of Bangkok, include Mercedes-Benz, Ford, BMW, Mazda, Hyundai, and Suzuki, as well as luxury brands such as Jaguar, Rolls Royce and Aston Martin, among many others.The show also features the latest two-wheelers to hit the market, with Harley Davidson, Ducati and Yamaha among the best known motorbike brands on display.The show runs from July 15 to 26. The luxurious Toyota Century has gone through minimal body style changes, as it is regarded as a tradition which should remain constant through the years. However, the previous model of the Century came equipped with a powerful V12 engine, but the new model features a 5.0-litre V-8 hybrid.
Honda and Toyota unveiled some rad new sports concepts at the Tokyo Motor Show on Wednesday. Honda's sleek Sports EV puts a retro twist on modern electric sports vehicles. Toyota unveiled a targa top speedster called the GR HV Sports Concept. The new concepts may signify a deeper design shift for the Japanese auto giants, with a greater focus on electric and hybrid vehicles potentially coming in the near future.
An all-new hybrid 'universal transport' prototype was showcased at the MAKS airshow in Russia on Wednesday, called the BORTS Triton, a wheeled offroad vehicle which has also has hovercraft capabilities as well an aerochute, which means that this one of a kind auto can conquer the land, water, and skies. The two-seater SUV is adept on land as an electrical car, uses an aerochute when converted into a plane and becomes a hovercraft once on water all thanks to a low-noise, ten-blade propellor.
