Nissan’s innovative e-POWER family has expanded, with the new Qashqai Ti e-POWER arriving in Australia to offer customers an exciting option in the city-friendly SUV space.Featuring Nissan’s pioneering powertrain, e-POWER combines an advanced petrol engine with an electric motor and 2.1kWh battery to deliver smooth driving power and impressive fuel efficiency+.The Qashqai e-POWER is available on the flagship Ti trim level. The model also benefits from the range-wide improvements made to the recently updated Qashqai that has already launched in Australia, including CMF-C platform, practicality increases, tech updates and its high-tech safety systems.The Qashqai’s Ti e-POWER system comprises a high-output battery complemented by a variable compression ratio 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, a power generator, inverter and an electric motor.The petrol engine generates the electricity, which can be transmitted via the inverter to the battery pack, the electric motor, or both, according to the driving scenario. Nissan’s e-POWER also delivers fuel use of just 5.2L/100km+ on the combined cycle.

    General Motors has issued a recall of over 60,0000 Chevrolet Bolt electric vehicles. According to Business Insider, the recall is due to at least five incidents of Bolt batteries catching fire. The vehicles affected by the voluntary recall were manufactured between 2017 and 2019. The automaker is working with US auto regulators to identify the causes of the fires. Experts advised owners to park the cars"outside and away from homes" until the repairs can be made. GM said it has developed software that will limit vehicle charging to prevent future incidents.
