Hours after Variety first reported that Taylor Swift's Big Machine Records masters of her first six albums were sold by Scooter Braun to a private equity group for $300 million, Swift is telling her side of the story. In a letter she posted on social media, Swift said her team had attempted to enter negotiations with Braun to buy back her masters, but his camp wanted her to sign an "ironclad" NDA that would "silence me forever before I could even have a chance to bid on my own work."

Sculptors from around the world concluded the latest Harbin International Ice-Assemblage Sculpture Championship on Thursday, producing some of the most incredible ice sculptures ever carved for arguably the most famous ice sculpting competition in the world. Thirteen teams from seven countries had just 4.5 days to complete their offerings, with each team receiving 10 large blocks of ice taken from Harbin's Songhua river. This year's first prize went to Team Russia Amursk for their ice dragons.
Hubo the humanoid robot took part in the 2019 Winter Olympic Games torch relay in the South Korean city of Daejon on Monday, becoming the first robot to have the honor. The robot crashed through a brick wall to show his stronger side as part of the relay ceremony before passing the flame on to Dr Oh Jun Ho. South Korea has announced plans to employ a fleet of 85 robots ‘volunteers’ in the Winter Olympics. Eleven different types of robots are set to be used for various tasks during the games, including helping tourists make deliveries, painting murals and taking part in the torch rally.
Elderly female athletes from around the world competed in the European Masters Athletics Championships Stadia for over 35s in Aarhus, Denmark on Thursday. The EMACs athletic event allows sports enthusiasts over the age of 35 to compete in a variety of disciplines, from sprinting to the long jump to the hammer throw, with many of the contestants nearing their centenaries. It's the top competition in the world for elderly people to compete at the top level. EMACS invites athletes from across the globe, with over 4,000 attendees taking part in Aarhus this year.
Wolfgang Sadowski, an 80-year-old German weight lifter, was caught pumping iron at his Berlin gym, Monday, as he gears up for the 2017 European Masters Weightlifting Championship next month, where he hopes to beat the current weight lifting world record for over eighties. Sadowski has been competing as a weight-lifter since 1955. He has previously won gold at the international weightlifting competitions in Denmark and Ukraine, among other medals in various competitions.
