The 23rd "Vernasca Silver Flag" has just ended, a historical re-enactment of the Castell'Arquato-Vernasca time trial that was disputed from 1953 to 1972. This edition, dedicated to the world of French competitions, saw 220 authentic jewels to form a museum traveling ever so careful to tell the whole story of sport on four wheels. On the starting grid the precious 1900 Sport Spider of 1954, made available by the Arese Alfa Romeo Historical Museum: it is a very rare racing spider, produced in only two copies. An authentic jewel belonging to the collection of FCA Heritage, the body that deals with the enhancement and promotion of the company's historical heritage. The "Silver" is not a race but the dynamic aspect allows you to recreate the atmosphere of authentic competitions. This is the magic of the event, able to excite not only the public but also the competitors. Among the illustrious names that have been awarded Arturo Merzario, on board the 1900 Sport Spider and Bernard Darniche with the Lancia Stratos. The Best of Show among the post-war cars went to the Alfa Romeo 2000 Sportiva, one of the two models built, belonging to Axel Marx. A car that the Swiss collector managed to make his own after almost thirty years of courtship.
